experiences.

We create experiences through a unique story for each client. We best serve those who would rather invest in expertise than manage the process on their own.

Ellie Stein

Founder & Principal

Ellie is an NCIDQ certified interior designer whose work is grounded in the technical discipline of function and softened by the sensibility of the American South. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, she grew up surrounded by the ideas of hospitality, comfortably beautiful living, and architectural intentionality. in 2023, At the intersection of those values, stein studio was born.
After earning a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University’s nationally recognized Interior Design program, Ellie began her career at a globally recognized, multidisciplinary interior design firm in New York City, where she worked on luxury hospitality and private residential projects. It was here that she developed a rigorous understanding of how design moves from an initial concept through documentation and construction. Those years taught her the lesson that still governs her practice: atmosphere and experience are engineered long before a space is styled.
Ellie founded Stein Studio in 2023 with the conviction that soulful interiors depend entirely on careful planning. Her process brings architectural detailing, finish selections, construction coordination, procurement, and installation together under one seamless process. This continuity allows the original design to remain intact throughout the many decisions involved in building or renovating a home.
Today she leads Stein Studio from Nashville, with projects across the country. Her specialization in Design Integration is what drives the repeated success of closing the gap between the beautiful rendering and the finished product. The studio's work is layered and unhurried, structured but never severe... a type of juxtaposition that creates intrigue and the desire to linger.
In 2026, Modern Luxury named Ellie One to Watch, recognized as one of the two design firms shaping the next chapter of the field.
Ellie's work sits within a larger conversation about permanence: spaces meant to be kept, materials meant to age well, memories meant to be discovered, and interiors built to hold a story for decades rather than a season. It is the founding conviction of her studio, and the reason its work is designed to be felt.

For those who want to hear the words - “consider it done.”
